Paradox Development Studio and Paradox Interactive announced a new Crusader Kings II expansion, Jade Dragon, today at Gamescom. Crusader Kings II: Jade Dragon adds China to the game as an off-map influence that can radically change the course of a game depending whether they are on your good or bad side.
As China is an off-map influence, Jade Dragon brings a brand “China Screen” menu to the game. The China Screen shows players the current status and desires of the Chinese Emperor, so players can keep tabs on what they need to do to please him and earn his grace. Players can submit to the empire as a tributary, but can also jump at the chance to free themselves from the waning power of the Emperor.
Chinese princes and adventures will also sometimes venture to the west seeking their fortune, so players may run into them. The expansion also lets players collect brand new Chinese artifacts and take advantage of an ever-changing Silk Road system in order to make money. As for smaller additions, Crusader Kings II: Jade Dragon adds Rally Points for levies, a dictionary full of Chinese figures, and eight new Casus Bellis.
