With the release of Crackdown 3 just a few weeks ago, Xbox One owners are getting the chance to become an Agent once more, head out into a massive open-world, and just get the chance to cause carnage and destruction. If you’re looking for more opportunities to improve your superpowers and collect agility orbs, the series’ second installment is now up for the taking.

In a post from Xbox’s Larry Hryb (aka “Major Nelson”), it was announced that Crackdown 2 is now available as part of the Xbox One’s growing library of backwards compatible titles, giving console owners the chance to dive back into the series’ second installment. Even better is the fact that at this moment, the game is currently available free on Xbox Live for Xbox One owners.

While Crackdown 2 is often regarded as a bit of a stumble for the series, having the chance to go back and experience it on Xbox One (for free right now, nonetheless) should at least give an incentive for those that might have played Crackdown 3 a chance to experience the earlier titles.

Of course, Crackdown 3 finally released just a few weeks ago after years of anticipation. While the end result might have come up as a bit uneven (especially given the game’s prolonged development cycle), there’s still some mindless fun that seems to be had from Crackdown 3 in exploring its massive world and taking down the criminal gangs of New Providence.
