In a holiday-themed tweet, Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red reiterated that they will release the game “when it’s ready,” seemingly responding to a report from Polish analyst Vestor Dom Maklerski that Cyberpunk would release in Q4 2019.

CD Projekt Red is known for taking their time to release games, and are currently in no rush to announce a release window for their upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 game which was shown off during E3 2018. Earlier this month Maklerski estimated in a stock analysis that the game would release in Q4 2019 with sales of 19 million in Q4 alone. This was in comparison to Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar’s latest open world title that released to sales of 17 million in the two weeks after its release. This statement came after an investor call where CD Projekt Red CEO Adam Kiciński stated that they aim to release games as refined as Red Dead Redemption 2 though dodged whether they are aiming for a Metacritic score higher than 95 (they are).

Amazon updated its placeholder date for Cyberpunk 2077‘s release to 2030 and 2099, assuring us that we would most likely be getting it within the next few decades or so. Cyberpunk’s twitter account replied to queries over this update stating, “We have not announced a release date.” Despite the anticipation, CD is in no rush to get Cyberpunk out the door.
