If you thought the Call of Duty Modern Warfare multiplayer map pool was a bit sparse, Activision and Infinity Ward are adding a couple of new maps starting tomorrow, November 8, on all platforms. Additionally, the multiplayer mode Hardpoint will be making its return to the series.

Announced on Call of Duty’s Twitter, the first map is Shoot House and will seemingly be featured in the normal multiplayer map pool. The second map is Krvnik Farmland, which is specifically made for Call of Duty Modern Warfare‘s update on the Ground War multiplayer mode. There really isn’t much else known about the save for the tiny thumbnails in the tweet’s image as seen below.

As mentioned, Hardpoint will be making its return in Call of Duty Modern Warfare multiplayer. Similar to the mode Headquarters, each team must secure a “hardpoint” on the map; once secured, the team who controls the hardpoint will begin to garner points. If a player from each team is in the hardpoint, then neither team will earn points until one of the players is eliminated. It differs from Headquarters in that respawning is still active for both teams, even if a team controls the point.

This news comes moments after Ashton Williams, senior communications manager at Infinity Ward, tweeted about an update that would seemingly be rolling out in the next few days. It is not specified that the new free maps and mode are part of this update, so the improvements Williams discussed in the tweet may be part of a separate update.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare is available now for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Topping the PS4 download chart in October, the game made $600 million in just three days. You can check out our review to see what we thought of Infinity Ward’s reimagination of the beloved series.
