A few weeks back, Kotaku’s Jason Schreier blew everyone’s minds when he reported that Treyarch had taken over as the developer for 2020’s Call of Duty title, replacing Sledgehammer Games. While we haven’t gotten any official confirmation from Activision of this news as of yet, earlier today it was reported that Treyarch is hiring for a next-generation, AAA title, set for release in 2020, all but confirming this news.

The job listing, which was found by the good people over at CharlieINTEL, is for a Senior Tools Engineer, who would create toolsets for their engine. The job itself is pretty normal, however, the original listing specifically mentioned work on a “next-generation AAA title in 2020,” which lines up exactly with what Schreier reported just a few days ago. The mention of the 2020 release has now been removed from the original listing.

For those that don’t know, Schreier reported that Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software had been developing a Vietnam-era Call of Duty game for next year, however, it was in such a bad state of development that Treyarch had now taken over. Reportedly, Treyarch will be using most of Sledgehammer’s assets in a single-player story mode for their next game, which is rumored to be Black Ops 5.

Call of Duty 2020 will more than likely arrive in the fall of next year and will probably be available on the next-generation PlayStation and Xbox consoles.

Until then, players can play Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, which just got a new Days of Summer update, and the recently announced Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, which is set for release on October 25, 2019.
