Even though we are only a week away from getting one of the biggest Black Ops 4 and, by obvious extension, Blackout updates, there’s still content to be pushed out before the new season starts. More specifically, Treyarch is closing out Operation: Absolute Zero with a bang by bringing us a new game mode, a double XP weekend, and more.

To kick things off, the developer will be adding a brand new variation of Team Deathmatch to the normal multiplayer, called Arms Race Team Deathmatch. In this mode, players will be able to earn their scorestreaks faster thanks to an increase in score earned per kill, will be increased from 100 to 150. This, in turn, means every match will be filled with scorestreaks, both small and large, which be interesting to see if it’s properly balanced.

In addition, Blackout is also seeing the return of Close Quarters Frenzy, a mode that was originally introduced in the game’s beta. If you don’t know, the mode only spawns in short-ranged weapons like shotguns, SMGs, pistols, the Bowie Knife, and (even though it’s not short-ranged) launchers. Oh, and the collapse moves at a faster rate too, so watch out for that.

Closing off this final bit of content is another double XP mode, but this one is a bit unique. Unlike other weekends where you’ll see one mode get the extra XP, this weekend there’s something for everybody in every mode. Multiplayer, Zombies, and Blackout will all see either double XP or double Merits turned on, starting on Friday and lasting until Monday, the day before the new season.

Of course, Treyarch also confirmed in the same post that, later this week, fans will learn more details about the game’s next season of content. Earlier today, the developer officially began teasing the update on their Twitter page with a mock blueprint, showing markers where new content will supposedly be added.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC. If you want to pick up the game on Amazon, you can do so by clicking here.
