Even before Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 hit store shelves, Treyarch’s been on record saying that the game’s Blackout map would receive map changes over time. Unfortunately, since it’s October release, we’ve only got one real addition: Hijacked from Black Ops 2. Now, it looks like we won’t have to wait much longer, as David Vonderhaar has all but confirmed that new map changes will be coming during Season 3 of the game’s post-launch content.

As originally discovered by Call of Duty-news site CharlieIntel, Vonderhaar was responding to a rather rude fan on Twitter who asked when new content would be coming to the battle-royale mode. The developer said that the team is currently working on the new content, and that “Season 3 is coming soon,” implying that fans won’t have to wait long to get it, as Season 2 (named Absolute Zero) ends in just a few weeks.

Of course, just like always, you can check out the actual tweet at the end of the article.

Of course, there’s no telling exactly what new map update would be coming to the mode, however, if it’s like the December update, expect only one or two additions. Personally, I’d like to see Burial from Black Ops 2’s Zombies DLC make its way into the game or even Cove from the same game. Whatever it is, any addition is a good one.

In other Black Ops 4 news, right now there’s a double Merit weekend going on in the game’s aforementioned Blackout mode, allowing players to blow through Echelons faster than before. This comes only a few days after the game’s 1.12 update hit, which changed the stats on both the Concussion and Cluster Grenades, as well as the Level 3 armor. Outside of the game itself, Treyarch released a new episode of its DECLASSIFIED series on Wednesday, which gives fans an inside look at the Black Ops series.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC. If you’re looking to pick up the game via Amazon, you can do so by clicking here.
