If you’ve been keeping eyes on Experiment 101’s upcoming Biomutant, you’ll probably be pleased to know that the game doesn’t seem to have any plans to include microtransactions. At least, that’s what the developer has said in an interview with Well Played.

At current, there’s no release date for Biomutant, with the developer being adamant that they’ll announce a date when they know it’s the final one. But when asked about DLCs, a season pass, or any form of microtransactions, Experiment 101’s studio head, Stefan Lungqvist clarified that the team is focusing on finishing the main game, then will ” hopefully deserve the right to add more content”. they also said, “we’ll definitely not have microtransactions in our game.”

For those unaware, Biomutant is a game being published by THQ Nordic and finds players taking control of a mutated animal. It’s said to be an open-world game that brings a new take on third-person combat that mixes shooting, melee, and powers. Player’s will also be able to recode their genetics to change how they look and play as well as making use of a crafting system. The game also boasts a story that unfolds through the player’s actions.

In a recent gameplay trailer, I couldn’t help but feel some Kung Fu Panda vibes. We actually got hands-on for a preview on the game, and last year it was revealed there would be a $399 special edition version.

Those looking to get hold of Biomutant can expect it to arrive at some point whenever the developer is ready to share a release date. It’ll be heading to Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
