Since debuting a few years back, the action-RPG Ashen has been a fixture of the indie titles on the horizon for both Xbox One and PC owners with its challenging combat and striking world, and now new gameplay footage has been revealed giving us a clearer picture of what to expect from the haunting journey that awaits players in Aurora44’s title.

Publisher Annapurna Interactive has released new gameplay footage for Ashen from Gamescom 2018, with the new footage giving a much deeper look into the upcoming action-RPG and how players will not only take on enemies, but also engage with the game’s world and lore.

Ashen was announced back in E3 2015 by Microsoft as part of the company’s ID@Xbox lineup of indie titles coming to both Xbox consoles and PC. Since then, new bits of video and footage from the game have been released throughout its development, and while no specific release date has been confirmed for the game just yet, hopefully we’ll be nearing its release sooner rather than later with this new gameplay footage.

Ashen is currently in development for Xbox One and PC and expected to release later this year. For a closer look at the game, you can check out the newly-released gameplay footage from Gamescom 2018 below:
