Respawn Entertainment and EA’s newest battle royale shooter Apex Legends has only been out since Monday, yet it’s already seen some incredibly high player counts.
As reported by EA this afternoon, Apex Legends has now officially surpassed the 10 million player mark. This feat was achieved in merely 3 days, which is pretty mind-boggling. In addition, it was also announced that the concurrent player totals for the game have also already surpassed 1 million. It seems safe to say that Respawn has a winner on its hands.
“We hoped you’d love it as much as us, but never in our wildest dreams could we have expected the outpouring of support and positivity we’ve seen. From all of us at Respawn, thank you for giving us and Apex Legends a chance,” said Respawn co-founder Vince Zampella in a statement released alongside the player totals. “This is just the beginning!” Zampella promised. “We have so much more in store for you this year.”
Following Respawn’s previous release of Titanfall 2 which failed to find widespread success, mainly due to when the game launched, it’s so good to see Apex Legends releasing to such acclaim. Not only have the player totals for the game been higher than I think anyone expected this week, but the game’s also just pretty darn fun to play. Keep an eye out for our official review in the coming days.
Until then, you can check out Apex Legends for yourself on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
