Apex Legends has been hitting out new events rather frequently this year. There’s been the arrival of Revenant, a new playable legend who came to the game via the titled Assimilation update, and we’ve also seen some smaller events such as the System Overdrive event, Valentine’s Day Rendezvousand the latest The Old Ways that brings some backstory to Bloodhound. There’s now another event happening tomorrow and this time it’s specifically focused on armor.

Starting tomorrow, April 28, Apex Legends players will be able to jump into another new event titled “Battle Armor”. This event is restricted to the World’s Edge map and will be taking place across 14 days, but there’s something about the armor that makes for a different experience.

Rather than jumping out of the dropship with no loot, players will have a P2020 pistol as well as body armor already equipped. However, depending on the event cycle, players will have different levels of body armor. When players do land on World’s Edge they won’t find any armor at all to loot but they can still find shield cells and batteries to recharge.

When can you expect the waves to take place?

  • April 28 – May 2: Level 1 armor
  • May 2 – May 6: Level 2 armor
  • May 6 – May 9: Level 3 armor
  • May 9 – May 12: Evo armor

For those unaware of Evo armor, it’s a special armor that was introduced through the System Overdrive event which starts off weaker than level 1 armor, but the more damage you cause to standing enemies the more that armor ramps up to become stronger than level 4 armor.

Alongside the armor event, Respawn Entertainment is also introducing double level XP for Top 5 finishes across all modes during the event. It’s also worth noting that Season 4 is being extended by a week to give players some extra time to grind to get their ranked levels up or progress through the Battle Pass. Season 5 will begin on May 12.

Apex Legends is free-to-play and available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
