It’s the season of loving in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Fresh off of the Lunar New Year festivities and just before the famous Festivale, Animal Crossing: New Horizons celebrates Valentine’s Day. While the game doesn’t make a huge song and dance about the event (Isabelle didn’t even tell me it was Valentine’s Day in her morning briefing) there are a couple of things players should ensure they do today.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Valentine’s Day Items

For players looking to collect as many different items and furniture pieces as possible, Valentine’s Day offers a couple of exclusive things to purchase for their collections. Players can grab both the Chocolate Hearts and Heart-Shaped Bouquet seasonal items in the game. They have been available since the start of this month and leave the store today, so if you haven’t grabbed them yet, time is running out.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Valentine’s Day Gifts

One of the biggest surprises of the day for me was how full my mailbox was. When I loaded the game up on Sunday morning, I expected the usual note from the Happy Home Academy and maybe the odd letter or two. I wasn’t expecting to be inundated with gifts from all of my favourite villagers.

In total, I received seven letters from villagers and one from Isabelle, each with a nice note and a gift attached. These seem to be the villagers I have spent the most time building the friendship levels up with. Sadly, there was nothing special in the items, just a bunch of Chocolate Hearts and Heart-Shaped Bouquets, but it’s the thought that counts right!

What’s coming next in New Horizons?

Tomorrow sees the start of Festivale! Pavé, the party-loving peacock, arrives on players island with the sole purpose of spreading joy. Players can purchase a selection of reactions and Festivale items from the Nook’s shop and collect feathers in exchange for dance moves with Pavé. Following that, a bunch of Super Mario themed items will be hitting Animal Crossing: New Horizons in March.
