Innersloth has released a recent devlog detailing some plans on the studio’s roadmap, revealing some information on the content that Among Us players can expect to see throughout this year. The post touches on some of the bigger updates as well as some smaller tidbits of information.

Innersloth confirmed the new “Airship” map is still on track to be released in early 2021 and is set to feature new tasks to complete, rooms to explore, and costumes for those little crewmates. Along with these, you can expect to have the ability to choose what room you start in and, and will be able to climb ladders. When this update becomes available, it will be free to all players.

In December 2020, it was announced that the game had joined Xbox Game Pass for PC. In the blog post, the game is still on track to launch on Xbox Game Pass for consoles, but it has also joined the Epic Games Store. Additionally, the Nintendo Switch version of the game has had some bug fixes pushed live, with some words being blocked in text chat, scrolling with the controller, and more. Cosmetics that can be purchase are also still to be added to the Switch version.

An account creation system is also on its way to Among Us. This feature should allow for reporting and moderation to be implemented into the game. And while desired features such as a friend system and saved stats were addressed, no update was given regarding when they would be added.

Innersloth closed the post touching on the development process, “Among Us gained incredible traction pretty late into 2020 that we weren’t expecting, and that meant A LOT of change for us.” it read. The post continues on talking about how the studio had to restructure, “Originally it was just 3 friends working together (and now I’m here to make 4, hi), but if we wanted this to work long term and hire up”. When talking on hiring more developers, the post explains, “we’re taking it slow and steady to make sure we can keep sending good things your way. But we have things in the works!”

Thanks were given to the fans for not only their patience but also their support at the 2020 Game Awards where Among Us won the honors of Best Multiplayer and Best Mobile game. And as for milestones, Innersloth has officially reached 1 million followers on both Twitter and TikTok.

There’s no solid release date slated for the upcoming Among Us update, but it is to be arriving “early 2021”. The game is currently available on PC, Nintendo Switch, and mobile.
