Activision’s Call of Duty: WWII and Destiny 2 are the Top Selling Titles of 2017

Video game publisher Activision have achieved quite a few accolades as 2017 comes to an end. Call of Duty: WWII and Destiny 2 are the number one and number two top selling console games respectively in North America this year, according to Activision (when based on revenue).

By developer Sledgehammer Games — with some help from Raven Software — Call of Duty: WWII is the latest entry in the long-running first-person shooter series and its return to the Second World War since Call of Duty: World at War. With it taking the number one spot in 2017, it marks the ninth year in a row a Call of Duty title was the best selling console game in North America. On a global scale, Call of Duty: WWII sold through one billion dollars worldwide since it launched in November.

In addition to taking the number two spot for best selling console game in North America and outselling the franchise’s inaugural title (based on units), Bungie’s Destiny 2 was the biggest PC launch in Activision publishing history.

Lastly, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is the number one top selling remaster in PlayStation 4 history. The remake developed by Vicarious Visions includes the first three titles from the Crash Bandicoot series.
