Bandai Namco and Project Aces published a new teaser video for Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown on Twitter. It shows a plane in first person view sending out UAVs and destroying another plane. It heavily teases that players will get to use UAVs in the game soon. The short teaser video is included below.

UAVs are Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, and basically designates all the drone weapons developed in Strangereal, the fictional world where the Ace Combat franchise is set. The ones seen in the teaser especially are the Weapon UAVs, smaller UAVs sent in by another UAV aircraft to attack. It basically works like the funnel weapons in Gundam, if you’re familiar with that. The aircraft in Ace Combat 7 using these Weapon UAVs is the ADF-11F Raven fighter aircraft. That plane is currently unplayable, meaning a future update will either make it playable, or Weapon UAVs will become equipable on any other plane.

It’s highly likely this will be part of the new content included in the game’s season pass. In any case, Bandai Namco should bring us follow-up news soon. We don’t know much about the season pass besides the teaser trailer thatwas published back in February.
