Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown Missions 06 and 07 have been shown off in some lengthy gameplay videos that include the briefing and the first half of each mission.

For Mission 06: Long Day takes place in a desert region where you attack an Erusean base. The F/A-18F Super Hornet and QAAM (air to air) missiles are chosen with some 360-degree rotation showing off the aircraft prior to takeoff. Conversation between your squad and AWACs are antagonistic as you are prisoners forced into service. The player in the cockpit also spends a lot of time close to the ground, including some very near crashes. Otherwise the game looks so much advanced compared when I replayed Ace Combat 04: Shattered Skies earlier this year.

During the briefing of Mission 07: First Contact the briefer reminds you how expendable you are as convicts. In this mission you are helping allies retreat by destroying enemy radar and anti-aircraft in a very mountainous valley. For this mission the iconic F-22A Raptor is chosen as well as the QAAM missiles again. There is alot of cloudy weather in this mission, as well as huge pillars of earth that make crashing even more of a danger. Clouds will coat your viewpoint, whether in the cockpit or in third person, with light water droplets, missile camera following has much more energy to it, especially once contact is made. Mid-mission a cutscene occurs in which drones threaten the mission and a thunderstorm can mess with your UI if you are struck.

Mission 06: Long Day and Mission 07: First Contact have their briefings and the first half of the mission featured in the gameplay videos below. Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown will be released on January 18, 2019 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and February 1 for PC. Those who pre-order on PlayStation 4 will get a remaster of Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War, and those who pre-order on Xbox One will receive a copy of Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation.
