A Plague Tale: Innocence from developer Asobo Studio and publisher Focus Home Interactive, has released a swarm of rats upon us in their new gameplay footage, lucky us! The title was formally announced in January 2017 from the developers, who draw experience from working on games like Quantum Break and The Crew.

During the gameplay sequence, you follow orphaned siblings Amicia and Hugo through a small segment of the game’s chapters. It’s 1349 and you witness the site of a merciless conflict going on between the troops of France and England, which will be known as the Hundred Years’ War. Now, onto the rats… they ravage whatever is in their path, whether it be men, women, children or other animals, to appease their insatiable appetite. With the ever-growing number of piled up corpses and the mob of hungry rats getting closer, it seems that Amicia’s flame is the only thing that holds off the rats, but for how long?

A cinematic E3 trailer had been unveiled for A Plague Tale: Innocence back in June, which showed us a war zone scattered with decaying corpses, and yes, more rats!

A Plague Tale: Innocence is set to release in 2019 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Check out more about the game and why it isn’t coming to the Nintendo Switch, plus some screenshots. You can watch the rats in all their glory, plus more, in the uncut gameplay video below as well as some screenshots for your viewing pleasure.
